Hey there, fellow adventurers! Welcome to my ultimate guide on exploring the vibrant city of Medellin, Colombia. I had the privilege of experiencing this incredible place back in 2022, and trust me when I say, it was nothing short of amazing. Picture perfect weather, stunning landscapes, and a city that truly lives up to its nickname as the "City of Eternal Spring."
So, if you're planning a trip to Medellin and wondering how to make the most of your time, you're in the right place. In this blog, I'll walk you through my 1-5 day itinerary, complete with all the exciting places to visit, delicious food to savor, and the best experiences to have.
Day 1: Welcome to Medellin
As I touched down in Medellin, I couldn't help but feel a rush of excitement. My home for the next few days was the Novotel Hotel el Tesoro, conveniently connected to El Tesoro Mall. After a quick check-in, I couldn't resist the allure of shopping therapy. El Tesoro Mall boasts a myriad of stores, from local boutiques to international brands. I couldn't resist picking up some fantastic Colombian fashion pieces.
After a day of retail therapy, I retreated to my hotel room for a relaxing massage, and let me tell you, it was the perfect way to unwind. For dinner, I headed to Jackie Chan, a Chinese restaurant where the drinks are the star of the show. A culinary delight that set the tone for the rest of my adventure.

Day 2: Exploring La Comuna 13
Day two was all about delving into the city's vibrant culture. I embarked on a tour of La Comuna 13, a neighborhood that once had a troubled past but has now transformed into a thriving artistic hub. The graffiti-covered streets were a visual feast, and the local stories shared during the tour were incredibly moving.
For dinner, I had the pleasure of dining at Hacienda, where Colombian flavors took center stage. The fusion of traditional ingredients and modern flair made for a truly memorable meal.

Day 3: Guatape - A Burst of Color
Guatape, a picturesque town known for its kaleidoscope of colors, was on the itinerary for day three. Wandering through the streets, I couldn't help but marvel at the vibrant buildings adorned with intricate zocalos. I stopped for a leisurely lunch at a local restaurant, savoring the flavors of Colombia.
The highlight of the day was a boat tour around the lake, where I got an up-close look at the stunning mansions dotting the shoreline. I spent the night at BubbleSky Glamping, nestled in nature, and enjoyed a cozy dinner under the stars.

Day 4: Conquering La Piedra del Peñol
Day four started with a challenging adventure – conquering La Piedra del Peñol, a massive natural stone formation with over 700 steps to the top. The panoramic views from the summit were absolutely worth every step. And for those who prefer not to climb, the vibrant atmosphere at the base offers its own charm.
In the evening, I returned to El Poblado, where OCI mde treated me to a sumptuous dinner. A perfect way to cap off an action-packed day.

Day 5: Exploring History
On my final day in Medellin, I embarked on a journey through history. I visited El Pueblito Paisa, a quaint town that tells the tale of Colombia's past. The exploration continued with a visit to an old house of Pablo Escobar and a town that he built.
For lunch, I relished traditional Colombian flavors at La Causa, and the day concluded with a grand dinner at El Cielo.

And there you have it, my unforgettable 1-5 day adventure in Medellin. This city has stolen my heart, and I hope my journey inspires your own. Whether you're seeking vibrant culture, stunning landscapes, or mouthwatering cuisine, Medellin offers it all.
